Question about copper....?

Will a magnet stick to copper? What about silver? I have some metal rods that are copper in color on the outside, but a silver color on the inside. Are these recyclable, or are these just steel covered in copper. Please educated answers only. Dumba$$es with no knowledge on this topic need not reply, you won't get any points.Thank you.

Answer:

Neither copper nor silver are ferromagnetic. Cobalt, iron, nickel and a few other metals are. If a magnet sticks, chances are it's a steel core. If it doesn't stick, maybe it's anodized aluminum. Most metals are recyclable.
