We moved into this condominium that has hardwood oak flooring and well we need carpets and rugs and I don't like them slipping and moving around what can I use to hold them still that won't stain or damage the flooring? Also what's the best cleaning method for hardwood oak.

Our new home came with the whole house wired smoke detectors. We've been in the house 10 years now and I've replaced about 5 of them. They just south after a few years, especially if you have forced air heat in the house. They are sensitive to dust. I put better units in and they only chirp when the batteries need to be changed.
It may need to be disassembled and cleaned. If that doesn't fix it, replace it. They are only reliable for about ten years and should then be replaced anyway.
