What is a tubeless tyre and how does it work?
Yes,, snow tires have steel spicks sticking out, to grab the road. But in the summer you need to switch to regular tires, So you need 2 sets of tires, one set for summer and one set for winter.
Snow tires offer better traction on snowy roads due to tread design which grips and clears the snow better. Highway tread will get you better mileage and be quieter on clear pavement.
most tires are tubeless as really only bicycles tires have tubes in them. it works like a tire. its a big ring of rubber that is around a center rim, as you put air into it, it expands and grips/pushed against the edges of the rim and that seals the air in.
A tubeless tire is used on a sealed rim were the tire seats up to the rim and a valve stem is mounted to the rim. There is no tube inside like on a spoked wheel or split rim.
A tubeless tire has no rubber innertube inside to hold the air. Tubeless tires hold air by forming a seal against the edge of the wheel. There is nothing inside an inflated tire but air, hence it is tubeless.
