Cable wire on lawn mower, that controls shut-off when handle is released, has broken. Is there a quick fix? I don't want to wait for the repair shop to order it.
Is not there a metallic tab that you would be able to pop up at the throttle cable mount near the throttle body? I thunk you just carry that up and take the slack out after which push it back down to lock it in place.
That is a safety feature for your safety, however you can defeat it by tying the grounding switch open and grounding out you sparkplug with a screwdriver when you want to shut it off.Use a well insulated screwdriver to avoid a shock.
Had same problem, replaced cable with strong single electric cable. You have to get it tight, mine has been on a couple years now. Good luck
Yeah the cable goes to a couple of metal pieces that when touched grounds the spark. Put a bungee cord or tie it back. Shut down the mower by touching them together.
