Question:

removing viper car alarm?

i have a 2000 honda civic si i bought it preownered with a viper alarm installed on it. Today the remote broke and if i unlock the car with the key i alarm goes off. How do I remove this?

Answer:

There's nothing at all illegal about refusing to talk to the police. Your right to remain silent is always in effect; it doesn't just kick in when you're read the Miranda warnings.
i too am leaning towards bad cv. run your hands over the rubber boots and see if any cracks or grease being sprayed all over the place. try this, go to a parking lot and drive in a circle to the left and listen. if cv is bad on left side it will clunk while turning left. then do the same going right. etc. if this doesnt work, take it to repair shop and take them for a ride over small bumps and dips and see what they say. i dont know what u could grease up to make a clunk go away. good luck, rob
It was likely for the sake of convenience, health, and safety. My guess is that when people were still hunting/gathering, things that dangled were getting caught in thorn bushes and bugs were crawling into orifices. Covering such sensitive areas would have been a means to prevent those problems.
