Question:

Replace/rebuilding 2003 Honda Accord transmission?

Just went to the Honda dealer after my transmission has been acting up. Turns out I need a new transmission. I understand that 2003 Honda Accords have a long history of transmission problems. Would it be reasonable to rebuild the transmission through maybe AAMCO or buy a used transmission? I dont want to buy a used transmission or rebuilt one if there is risk that it will act up again since all 2003 accords tend to have this issue. Much appreciated. Thanks.

Answer:

If rebuilt by the right person and done right youll be fine, and some times getting used parts even a tranny can work better and last longer than the original part.but I know this will cost you aswell so this depends on your pockect what do you feel you can cash out new or used whats affordable for you and whats the safe route you wanna take.
You went to a cheap *** chain store for a brake job and they put the cheap hard brake pads on your vehicle. Happens all the time even at Midas.
If rebuilt via the right character and performed correct youll be first-rate,and a few instances getting used elements even a tranny can work better and final longer than the original section. However i know this may occasionally price you aswell so this depends upon your pockect what do you believe that you may money out new or used whats low priced for you and whats the risk-free route you wanna take.
