I have stock wheels on my skates that are a 95A. I want a wheel with more grip. I am new to roller derby and my wheels are making me uncomfortable. Help please.
Atom D-Rods are the way to go!
The kind of indoors wheels needed will depend on the kind of surface your team is skating on. If it's wood, you can get away with a harder wheel. If it is concrete, I would suggest a softer, grippier wheel. Here's an example: My indoor wheels are Radar flat outrageous. size 62 mm (average size) softness 88a (I skate on smooth concrete which is why i use a softer wheel) When you say uncomfortable do you mean that you're slipping and falling all over the place? Or is it that you feel like your working too hard to gain speed? 95A are pretty hard. Radar makes good, soft wheels. Radar Flat Out's are good for beginners. You can look into the Mojo's too, which have aluminum hubs. You can also look into Heartless wheels, which offer a large selection of different softness. They are a really good brand. I guess since I don't know the kind of surface you skate on, I would ask your fellow league members what is best for them.it will give you an idea as to what softness or hardness you need.
