I was considering buying an Autograph press pass rookie card of Ron Artest 1999-2000 card and its authenic and is it worth $12 to buy or just don't do it and I'm a big collector but skeptical on this one but Ron Artest is a stud but is it worth it to sell maybe ten years down da road or what?

Remove the batteries entirely and replace the units with independent battery powered units. Those systems are dual-power and will 'chirp' if either the main supply is off or the battery is weak/missing. You might be able to re-connect the main power-supply - usually a large wall-wart somewhere near the alarm panel and screwed into an outlet - but if the keypad is missing, this may not work. In some few cases, the smoke alarms have a SIP or DIP switch inside that will allow them to be independent of panel power. Check them by brand and model number for this option. We have such a system in this house and we disabled the panel function this way.
