Question:

Safety glasses that fit over my glasses?

I am having trouble finding safety glasses for my chem lab at school. I have to wear my glasses with them because I am not allowed to wear contacts during lab. I bought two different pairs (one medium sized, one very large pair). Both do not work with my glasses. They slide right off of my face. My glasses are too wide. I don't know what to do. I can't go to the lab without these.

Answer:

The flag is cloth, so it doesn't conduct electricity well, unlike the metal pole, which acts as a huge lightning rod. Any electricity that did pass into the flag would not cause any damage because there would be no potential difference in charge. The flag is only attached to the flagpole which is already full of charge.
Certainly not man made, infrared is a small region on the electromagnetic spectrum, really close to the visible light region. It's frecuencies go from 10^12 to 10^14 hz, while light from 10^14 to 10^15.
The metal of the pole is gonna be alot more conductive than the fabric or plastic of the flag. If you were a lazy electron, where would you go?
The pole is much more conductive than the flag, so the lightning bolt struck the pole, not the flag. Also, because the pole has such little resistance, it did not heat up enough to cause the ropes to combust.
