Question:

Safety of cutting fluid?

Hey, I'm metalworking with my grandfather this week and I've been handing steel ball bearings and drill bits coated with cutting fluid. I understand that there are some health concerns when working with this stuff? Should I wear gloves? I wasnt quick enough washing some off and a painless/itchless rash developed. I'm worried about long term health problems, can someone please reassure me that I won't develop lung disease or cancer from one or two days of exposure to the stuff? I'd appreciate advice? Thanks!

Answer:

If you don't leave at least two fingers between the wall and the laminate around all 4 walls, the laminate can buckle like that, the floor actually does expand a bit
Go to a good hardware store and try on several pairs of goggles and buy the best that you can afford. If you then find them cheaper on the internet taking into consideration the cost of the goggles and postage then buy them on line.
Trust me. Keep the cage. The shield fogs even with the spray. Shields were cool 10 years ago, now you would just be a bender.
