What makes Schwalbe tires so great? I see they are recommended a lot here. I might include them in my next tire purchase.
Simple like the Schwalbe Energizer [not the Tour] and the Schwalbe Marathon Plus and Marathon Plus Evo. Have had a Marathon Plus Evo for seven years is only half worn and still no punctures!
Theoretically Schwalbe tyres are better because they are supposed to be technologically advanced and incorporate puncture protection which makes them more resistant to flats. My personal experience however with Schwalbe tyres is that they are on a par with other top brands of tyres like Michelin and Continental but not necessarily superior to them. Every cyclist will have their own preferences and I usually buy Vittoria tyres.
Schwalbe makes quality bicycle tires, buy then so do Michelin, Hutchinson, Continental, Vittoria, Panaracer, and many other tire manufacturers. If you decide on Schwalbe tires for your bike, you still will have many different choices at varying prices. The more expensive ones might be better in most but not necessarily all ways than cheaper ones
