Seniors: What do you say is the best attic insulation to buy?

Cellulose or fiberglass? I heard that cellulose does not repel mice, bugs or mold and that fiberglass can get in the air while being installed What has been your experience?

Answer:

You could try ground flax seeds, but they're really better for you if you swallow them wholeThe good stuff in them gets destroyed within seconds when exposed to the air, but they are slow-released while they sit in your digestive systemGround or whole, the fibre content is probably still the samePhyllium is also good for regularityI'm not sure what it is exactly, but I have a bread recipe that calls for it, so it's probably a grain of some sortGood luck! :-)
Artichokes are an excellent source of fiber and anti-oxidants.not to mention delicious!
Nothing you eat can contain a bunch of fiberYou can get FlaxSeed or fiber supplements oryou can eat broccoli all dayOr V8 juice :D
The ultimate insulation in the attic is blown in foamThat is the one you want if you have a fat bank accountIf you are not wealthy, you will have to choose between fiberglass, rockwool, cellulose, or vermiculiteFiberglass has a little higher R value than cellulose or vermiculite, but I would never use fiberglass because of the danger to human lungs, and vermiculite is difficult to find these daysRockwool is a pain to install, so I suppose we are down to cellulose, which is the one I chose, because it seems to be the least of the evils.
