I am having a new oil fired boiler installed. The contractor wants to install a Weil McLain WGO-6. he says the input is 175,000 BTU's and the output is only 125,000 BTU's.What does this mean?
ask for a heat loss from contractor then ask for a 90+ boiler, the heat loss will tell u what size boiler u need,,this is code in minnesota
Boiler capacity is determined on the amount and type of radiation you have installed in your home. Your contractor probably/ hopefully measured the radiation units to determine the boiler capacity. The original heat loss that was taken on your home when it was built determined the radiation units size and again the original boiler capacity should have been sized from them etc..... Regards, Jlang
