I just recently got new tires, because my back one was worn out, and my front one was in good condition. I replaced them both because now they‘re equal. I‘m just wondering if you should rotate your bike tires to keep the back tire from wearing out so fast. My old tires lasted about a year and 2 months. But the back one was bad for a long time. So should I rotate them? And how often??
No! This is a common misconception because people are used to doing it with their cars. On a bicycle, the front tire is much more important for the stability of the bike.
Don't rotate. You ALWAYS want your best tire up front. Have a worn tire up front increases the likelihood of the front tire blowing out, which is much more catastrophic than the rear tire blowing out. I wouldn't recommend rotating your bicycle tires, and it's not necessary to replace them at the same time, as you would in a car.
