If you are experiencing slippage in the transmission, an additive will NOT help you. It is possible that you just need the filter changed in the transmission. Unfortunately, if the transmission is slipping, you are too late!
So far answers received are somewhat true and not. Ford recommends a transmission service interval about every 9-10 oil changes or no greater that 30k. Now if your above and having slippage issues, I suggest a quick drive to any Cottman transmission shop for a free diagnostics, chances are if you have neglected your service on the tranny. you might want to call a reputable rebuild shop. this is gonna hurt, average cost for a full bench rebuild is around 2k. Or, try any salvage yard that pulls the parts themselves, this has two benefits. 1. not just any shadetree mech, can tear it up getting out, and 2. you don't have to pull it yourself, they'll do that for you.
Additives and conditioners claim to help, but don't waste your money. If anything, go to a trusted transmition shop and have it serviced. You may just need to change the fluid and replace the filter.
