This Site Might Help You. RE: Do you need a carbon monoxide detector if you don't have any gas running to your home? our house is 100% electric, so my thought is that you do not need a carbon monoxide detector because this poisionous gas comes from malfunctioning gas equipment. we live in Arizona and all the houses around us have no gas lines either, so do we need a co detector?
If you are indeed using Push On Fittings they REQUIRE that they be used ONLY with matching Push On Hose This combination should seal WITHOUT the use of a clamp. In fact the use of a this type of fitting with a clamp can DAMAGE (Cut) the tube of the hose because of the sharp nature of the barbs. Regular barb fittings used with either crimped on ferrules, or worm gear clamps will seal properly for the 130 PSI you mention on a 1/4, 3/8 or 1/2 hose. Using a Push On Fitting with a regular air hose fails to seal properly, because the regular hose will EXPAND in diameter when pressurized therby losing the seal, while the special Push On hose will CONTRACT in diameter thereby tightening the seal.
I would not purchase one if heat was electric.
If you have an attached garage that stores a garden lawn tractor do you need a Carbon Monoxide Detector?
In response to existsforever, remember there is no such thing as a dumb question. I just installed a monitored alarm system, and rather than endure the expense of something I may not need,I Googled the same question and came to this site. Thus noone is wasting anyones time, and I appreciate the insight from those who may have more expertise or knowledge in areas that are somewhat vague to most of us.Since I use only electric appliances and have no garage or grill, the answers folks their time to reply with saved me a few dollars not wasted on additional sensors that would be pointless.
