Check the reset button on the unit and the breaker panel. If it hums when turned on, it's jammed with something,at the bottom center of the unit you'll find a Allen/ hex head hole to insert the tool and turn the blades back and forth to UN-jam. Make sure power to disposal is off when doing this. Good luck
The problem with satin is that it is very shiny. I find that it works well as a drapery for portraits but not so much as a plain background.

Garbage disposals usually have a circuit breaker on the body of the unit somewhere. Look under your sink for the garbage disposal and see if you can find a little red button. Be sure you have the garbage disposal switched off, then press in the circuit breaker button to reset it. Run some water and see if the disposal works. It's possible that you got something caught in the disposal and that caused the breaker to trip. If a piece of silverware slipped into the disposal, you will have to pull it out with a pair of needlenose pliers.
