Question:

some sort of filler put in motorcycle tyres?

Hi i went over pothole the other day and it caused a hole on the side of my front tyre (picture attached), and it was losing air fast so i took it to a motorcycle repair store and they recommended me some sort of tyre filler where they take off the tyre and put some sort of tyre filler on the inside of the tyre. they told me it could last a month or two depending on how much i ride so i went for it, does anyone have any idea what they‘re called and how long they last? I do plan to get a new front tyre soon but am curious about this filler they put inside.

Answer:

That tyre is asking to come apart bro. Shop may have put a tube in it. I'd be surprised if any filler would block a cut like that. By the time you finished stuffing around, you coulda just changed out the tyre
do not waist your money on a patch $ time to buy a new tire after all your LIFE is riding on it
Nothing will fix a sidewall. There are various fillers like Goop and Slime and lots of others, they work around a nail or screw in the face of a tyre but they do not repair a hole that large and never in the sidewall. Riding a bike with a tyre in that condition is asking for an accident. You can also plug tyres with a plastic/rubber mushroom (again not in a sidewall). Get the new tyre now, do not ride on that.
