Question:

Started a high fiber diet and i get more bowel movements than anyone elseWHY? :(?

My mom, my friend, and I have started a high in fiber dietYes, I understand that fiber makes you have more regular bowel movements and whatnot, but my stomach churns, growls, and i have more bowel movements than themAt least 4 and they get 2 or 3I have a lot more gas as well1.) Why do i have more bowel movements and upset stomachs than them?and2.) Is there an alternative to this diet? Over the break, I have lost up to 10lbs with the fiber diet and regular exercise, but I don't want to have gas and bowel movements like this when I get back to schoolIt's not nice to have to hold in a fart for a whole daylol

Answer:

The trouble is, you've got a massive variation of temperature there between day and nightWithout knowing your horse, it is hard to tell, but as much as a 400 g rug isn't heavy heavy, it's still a fair bit for your horse to be carryingIt might be fine for night time and the colder days, but I'd have thought if you get up to 40 it's going to be way too hot - particularly as she's unclipped Unfortunately, once you start rugging your horse quickly develops a lack of insulation from their own coat and starts to become dependent of the rug for warmthSo if you're going to start rugging, you would very much benefit from getting a couple - one thicker one for the colder weather and a thinner one when it's warmer If she's never been rugged before though, why start now? 20 isn't all that old, and if she's healthy and happy and not struggling with the cold why fix what's not broken?
Your body will get use to itUse A digestive enzyme and a ProbioticGo somewhere reputable for them like GNC, Vitamin Shop, Whole foods, Vitamin World, or another natural food storeTrack how much fiber you are taking inIf it's below 35, don't worry your body will become adjusted to itI take in 50-60 everyday, and if I don't i have problemsIt's all about what you're used to .
I wouldnt put that heavy of a blanket on herEspecially if shes never had such a heavy blanket beforeIf its only 40 by you I would stick with a no fill sheetHorses generate enough fur but its nice to keep the wind away and them dryI keep a sheet on until it falls below freezing for a regular basis and then I move to a medium fillI'm not really sure how much fill it isBreathable will help but stillYou wouldn't want her to over heat at her age
You can't just slap a blanket on a horse and expect it to be suitable for the entire winter season It is your responsibility to be sure the horse is dressed for the weatherYes, when it's 45 degrees, chances are your blanket will be too warmSo, with a full coat, you should take off the blanket when it's above 35 degrees It's called responsibility and good horsemanshipAnd you may have to pay someone to take your blanket off on warm times and replace it during colder times No single piece of horse clothing can take a horse from 45 degrees to sub zero tempsYou're kidding yourself if you think so.
The temperature isnt a huge problem because she wont be wearing the blanket all the timeShe only needs the blanket on those really cold days and on any of those days you feel it may he a little to warm just keep an eye on her: if she works up a sweat, well then remove the blanket, dry her off and put it back in when it gets a little chillierIf for some reason your horse needs to wear the blanket longer, purchase a lighter blanket.
