Okay i have a 2000 chevy impala , and sometimes when i do u turns the steering wheel gets kinda hard why?: and everything is good
1-check your power steering oil 2-check if any leaking at your power steering pump, steering rack. if there is a leaking, fix it. hopefuly solve your problem
Maybe the power steering fluid is low or the tie rods/suspension needs lubrication.also possible tires are not inflated properly
Most newer cars have variable ratio power steering, were the ratio of turning the steering wheel vs. amount tires turn changes, the further you turn the steering wheel. At the center, the steering wheel turns the tires very little, for high speed stability. As the steering wheel turns further, the tires angle changes more, for easier moving around in a parking lot. So at the extremes of the range, you're moving the tires further, which does take a bit more effort.
