Today my engine started making a hum - it sounds like one of the belts. Shortly after the check engine light came on. I ran a check and it says system running lean. I checked the gas cap and it was hardly on. I reset the system so the light is now off - it has not come back on. The sound from the engine continues. Do you think the sound from what presumably could be a belt and the system running lean code are related or coincidences? I have a 2006 Volvo S40.
my answer is try to check it out on auto repair shop be the expert do that.
Co-incidence Get that hum noise checked out ,possibly could be a bearing noise in one of the components,like alternator,water pump,etc and could fail and the car could break down. Do it A S A P!
well no since the code has not come up again.
