Question:

Taking off axles of front wheel drive car?

how do you take the axles off of a front wheel drive car?

Answer:

This is one of those type of questions that I must caution you that if you really need to ask how to do the job you should not try to fix it in the first place. I am not trying to discourage you or any thing like that, but there is a whole lot that can go wrong. The easy part is getting the parts. rebuilt is a common practice and done more often than not for about1/2 the price of new half shafts. The repair is easier if done using a vehicle hoist rather than a floor jack and never use a bumper jack to support the vehicle for repairs anyway. Please just have a Professional do the repair you will be better off. All money saved is not always the best course of action. Albert D.
Take off wheel and tire. Remove large nut holding axle in hub assy. Remove nut and bolt holding lower ball joint to steering knuckle. Remove nut to steering rack at knuckle. using rubber hammer pull out on strut assy and tap in axle until it comes loose from hub assy. using a pry bar, pry lightly on axle where it enters transmission, tapping on the opposite side of the axle until it pops out of the trans.
Spoilers upload downforce to the rear so the tires on rwd or four wheel drive can stay on the floor or have more beneficial traction, a spoiler on a fwd doesnt do something because the tires that pass the motor vehicle are interior the front no longer the decrease back
