I am purchasing a single family home that was built in 1974. The previous owner took their battery operated smoke detectors. Can anyone tell me what the Maine law is for having these? Obviously I need smoke detectors. Do I need Carbon Monoxide detectors as well? Do these need to be hard wired in? How many do I need of each?
If the office is open tell em. Er, thats basically all you can do for now cus I doubt the police or anything is gonna deal wit that.
Hopefully the orton sheamus big show vs shield thing is all over now. It's going nowhere I'd rather see Sheamus vs Alberto Del Rio vs Swagger.. Swagger could continue his gimmick against irish sheamus.
Some of the chemicals used in the home can be pretty nasty; oven cleaners and some drain cleaners contain lye, which could really do some damage if you get it in your eyes. Some drain cleaners are sulfuric acid and etchant for concrete is muriatic acid. For these materials, you could get a pair of inexpensive plastic safety glasses with side shields at a hardware store or home center; not nearly so inconvienient as goggles, and provides nearly as much protection. Also I think safety glasses are better than goggles because people will actually wear them, wheras, the goggles get left in a drawer because they are so uncomfortable. The safety glasses would also come in handy if you're using a skill saw on plywood (splinters go everywhere) or splitting rocks or concrete, using a grinder or wire wheel etc. Goggles/safety glasses are probably not necessary for most of the regular spray cleaners and the like, such as: Windex, 409, Fantastik, scouring powder, etc, just be careful.
