I can't really recommend stuff from some of these genres, but here are some great albums: Melodic Death Metal: Darkane - Rusted Angel Embraced - Amorous Anathema Be'lakor - Stone's Reach Dark Tranquillity - The Gallery The Mind's I Catamenia - Eskhata **very similar to Bodom** Norther - Mirror of Madness **very similar to Bodom** Hearse - Dominion Reptilian Arch Enemy - Burning Bridges In Flames - The Jester Race Extreme Metal: Strapping Young Lad - Heavy as a Really Heavy Thing Zimmer's Hole - Bound By Fire Devolved - Technologies The Berzerker - Dissimmulate
Down (stoner Southern metal, very sludgy) Iced Earth (80s style thrash, kinda sound like Iron Maiden) Strapping Young Lad (amazing extreme metal from Devin Townsend) Ihsahn (progressive, extreme, death, folk! AMAZING!) Deicide (THE best Satanic death metal band going. Their new album To Hell With God is killer!!) Kreator (excellent thrash metal from Germany. Their last album Hordes of Chaos was astounding adn was all recorded live in the studio with no click or over dubs!!) Evile (thrash metal from the UK. Kinda sound like early Metallica) Macabre (unclassifiable really...they are just bonkers. They play what has become known as murder metal. Every album is about gruesome acts of violence usually true stories too. Their last album was called Grim Scary Tales and is all about the true stories from where children's fairy tales come from. Really cool and strange!) Six Feet Under (death metal with a slower tempo - usually about killing and maiming! Great guttural vocals) Ozzy Osbourne ( I know he is i his 60s but he is the Godfather of METAL! His last album Scream is EXCELLENT!! I highly recommend) Long live the metal!
