Toshiba Satellite L675: Battery vs. Charger?

Batter dead, or charger? Toshiba Satellite L675?Is it my battery that's died or my charger? Why it may be the charger:- When the battery died or was taken out, the laptop wouldn't power up even though it was plugged in.Why I think it's the battery: - I see a charger light on my computer but not a battery-says it's plugged in but not charging

Answer:

You have said you played games on it correct? I am not sure how much RAM your laptop has but that could be a factor in determining the speed at which your laptop goes. The laptop may not be able to process large game files. If it is not a problem with the RAM, then I suggest calling Toshiba's customer technical support and maybe send it in to a technician to see if its a hardware problem.

you need to take it into a repair shop and ask them to check it with a voltmeter, radio shack may help you also. push a paper clip into the end of the connector and then touch one probe of the meter to it and the other outside metal part of the connector. you should read about 19 volts. if the charger is ok then maybe it's the battery. also take a screwdriver or something and push on the pin where the charger plugs in. the pin should not be loose, if it is you need to pull the laptop completely apart and install a new connector.
