So I'm gonna be renting out a place but there is ugly orange stained carpet. What can I do to make it look better? The owner won't let me change the carpet either. :(
try putting rugs on them. It might make it look better. Get the rug color you want and try putting them around your apartment. And try not to put things that look interesting on the floor. Cause people will see it and they'll see your carpets.
Large area rugs in each room, covering as much of the floor as possible. Why'd you rent this place? Will he let you change it if you pay for the carpet and it's professional installation?
Put area rugs over the stains, and put furniture over them too. Couches, chairs, coffee tables, small tables, whatever. You can also try to do a professional deep clean with the carpet, depending on how much you want to spend. The deep clean may also be able to get out the stains.

I went to my local home depot and bought carpet squares. I got some easy up adhesive and stuck them down. I had to raise the door since it's a little lower than it's supposed to be, but it looks great. They stay down and when the landlord came to collect rent, I showed him and then he decided to change the whole house and put down BEAUTIFUL cherry hardwood and bought us runners of our choice color .Show the landlord the rooms potential, but let her know it's TOTALLY undoable and maybe she'll understand. Say your allergies can't stand the stained item or something. Be creative!
