Question:

US history school project - hindenburg any ideas?

I'm assigned to make a aesthetically pleasing project about the Hindenburg disasterIt's kind of just like a huge blimp so I want to make a visual modelI'm not sure exactly what to do because I want to have notecards with the story of what it is, how it blew up, etc., and I want to to be pretty largeIf you stuck your left arm out, probably from the tip of your finger to your right shoulder would be a good length.I thought about making a paper m?ché with a large balloon and everything, but that might be pretty messy. If anyone has an idea on how to build a large model or what to do, I'd love to hear.Thank you!

Answer:

buy the 2 inch sheets cut to fit, use can foam to fill in areas, 1 inch of foam is equal to 6 inches of blown insulation,
Visit a craft/hobby store like Michaels or similar and get styrofoam in a cylinder shapeThe link below is a photo of a model of the zeppelinGet another piece of styrofoam that you can cut into the shape needed for the nose of the shipGlue the nose to the cylinderUse balsa wood for the finsUse straightened out coat hangers for the ribs that run the length of the shipCover everything with thick aluminum foilPerhaps several layersCover the balsa wood fins that are cut to form with aluminum foil.
