Alas, I mourn their passing also, vodka and vanilla pepsi, rum and pepsi lime, sigh. The big companies do test markets and if it looks like people will buy, they produce and sell but sometimes, as in this case, not enough people buy. Store shelf space is at a premium so they only produce things which sell at very high volumes. The latest dirty trick of theirs was cranberry ginger ale, it was so awesome that they naturally took it off the market as soon as I decided it was the best pop ever. You just have to do what I do and go back to the good old fashioned squeeze of lemon/lime in the Pepsi.
