Question:

USB to LPT (25 pin) interface cable to use it for control projects?

I have a usb2lpt port cable and I want to use it in my control projects (I don't have lpt port in my laptop)the problem is I tried to test it to control a LED using emu8086 but it's not showing any change to the LED , so is the problem with the address (378h-37Ah) or do I need a program to do such thing ?TO KNOW : OS : win Vista and I tried parmon.exe it's not working I tried userport.exe and it causes system failure (after I coped userport.sys to #92;drivers)thanks a lot !

Answer:

Yes, it's possible. I did it once long ago, but be advised that it is a very, very slow way to transfer data. If the computers have network cards, you could try an ethernet crossover cable instead.
Apparently many of those parallel adaptor cables only present an emulated printer interface to Windows and not the old school 378h interface. Find an old computer, a PCI interface card with a parallel port, or use a USB serial adaptor instead.
