Question:

Vanity basket in reception bathroom, bad or good idea?

Im thinking of getting a vanity basket with ladies accessories and putting it in the receptions venues bathroom for the guests, I.e. hairspray, hair clips, tampons, body spray, lotion etc.My fiancé thinks drunk guests will end up stealing the stuff so not to bother. Should I get one?

Answer:

Even if the guests steal it it is ok! I think it is a great idea. The point is for the guests to use the products. If they are all gone at the end of the night you will know they were well appreciated!
I'm a bit in two minds about this one. It is thoughful, but possibly only catering to the handful of forgetful guests you might have who didn't remember their own product. About the only thing I think would be nice is unscented mosituriser. My hands often feel really dry after using some soaps in public bathrooms, so I always have some on me. Even then, perhaps just one pump bottle on the vanity would be enough, rather than individual bottles/tubes.
Forgetting about drunk guests.... I am an adult. I do not need anything that I cannot and do not supply for myself. I have never, in my life, been anywhere where I wished I had hairspray or a hair clip. I leave my home with deodorant, body lotion and tampon in place. Supply a wonderful pump soap that is irresistibly scented and perhaps a matching lotion. That's it. Bath and Body works have great duos.
good idea, add deoderizing spray
Who cares if they steal stuff? Does your fiance really want to go home with leftover hairspray and tampons at the end of the night? Weird. As someone who works for a wedding vendor, I love those bathroom baskets. I inevitably forget a hair tie or a bobby pin or need some lotion or something so they're super convenient. I can only imagine that other women feel the same way. Yes, someone you're paying to be there might use one of your bobby pins or some lotion. We're people and our hands get dry too.
