Question:

Was I wrongfully FIRED. If so what should I do?

I work in a retail store where there is alot of theft.I have never been trained in Lost Prevention, but a situation occured where I had to apprehend a theif, which lead to me chasing him outside of the building and, apprehending him.I found nothing wrong with my actions because of several previous apprehension's that I witnessed consisted of managers leaving the building and physically taking down the subject. These managers were not punished for there actions. So I seen nothing wrong with there tactics..A week later I was fired, because my actions were, unacceptable and unprofessional. This was my first time, ever apprehending someone,I have never broken these rules or regulations(Also was never trained)And I was never givin a warning, or a documented write up on these rulesWhat should I do?

Laos is generally safe and people are very friendly and accommodating. But that doesn't mean you shouldn't take the normal precautions a girl traveling alone would take anywhere in the world. As you are to join a volunteer organization, they can surely support and help once you get there. Meanwhile, I give you some links for further advice.
Yes it will, if you're directly under the smoke detector. If you're not directly under the detector then it wont go off unless a substantial amount of smoke reaches the smoke detector.
