Yes. Mayonnaise. Put it in your hair and leave it in for about an hour or a little longer. The oils and minerals in the mayo will be absorbed by your dry hair. Although this makes your head smell pretty gross for a few days, it definitely helps. If your hair is really dry, i recommend doing it every week or so.
Don't tamper with any smoke detector! For any reason!!!! Why can't you simply close the door most of the way without the latch catching? That, and not running the shower so hot or for such a long time, should solve the problem. You can also place a larger box fan in the hallway to exhaust the heat away from the smoke detector and into the rest of the living space. .Also, if there is an exhaust fan in the bathroom, turn it on! Every legal bathroom should have a fan installed.
