i have a 2001 gsxr 600 with a bit of engine mods, i bought the bike on some goodyear qualifiers, and replaced them with the same tire package. now i was wondering if i should get different ones? my riding style is general on a daily commute, but i do like to stunt and drive full throttle once and awhile. so what are some of my options for my style of riding.
Good year? Anyway, you can't have your cake and eat it. A longer wearing tire will have a little less grip. The grip is more of an issue thing for pulling the G's on turns than just going fast. I use Pirelli Diablo Stradas. They are classified as agressive sport touring. They are also supposed to be very good for wet roads.
Well, I would suggest 2 sets of tires on rims-reason, You want good traction for your commute, but need a set of tires that you can also run with low air pressure-which tends to weaken sidewalls-for stunting. I know of no manufactor that is gonna warranty tires that have been run with low tire pressures (the stunting thing) when the sidewall gives out under aggressive riding. get a used set of rims at a salvage yard and some decent tires there also. Get good tires for street use
Just make sure its a Z or ZR rated tire.Metzler is real good. So is Avon.
