Mainly the death of anyone smarter than a head of lettuce. Goal #1 Destroy the symbol of American economic strength. CHECK Goal #2 To get America to invade and destablize the Middle East CHECK Goal #3 By causing #1, drive up oil prices to do damage to the economies of industrialized nations. CHECk Goal #4 Pull Israel in to the conflict so other Arab nations would join. Goal #5 Manipulate the Saudi Royal family into opposinng the invasion of the infedels on sacred land, or unseat them for not doing so. They hate America, because they see industrialized nations exploiting them for their resources and bleeding their holy lands dry. They hate Ameria for supporting Israel without questioning their tactics. They hate America because they see us strong-arming the rest of the world through economic relations. They hate American because they view our government as a rogue government that serves at the pleasure of Israel.
Three things: 1) Stop Western influence in the Middle East (oil companies out, financing of Israel ended, etc.). 2) Get rid of the Saudi royal family, seen as usurpers and heretics. 3) Having Sharia law as the main civil legal system in all countries where Islam is followed by a majority. PS: Of course, all the universalist-proselytizing religions (diverse flavours of Christianity, some forms of Islam, Nichiren Buddhism, etc.), the ideal often is to turn the whole planet to their own religion.
