What are the properties of petroleum resins and their role in the rubber industry?

Answer:

The resin and natural rubber particles have good mutual solubility, and have no great influence on the vulcanization process of the rubber. The addition of petroleum resin in the rubber can increase the viscosity, reinforce and soften the rubber. In particular, the addition of C5/C9 copolymer resin can not only increase the adhesion between colloidal particles, but also improve the adhesion between colloidal particles and tire cord. It is suitable for rubber products such as radial tires.
Rubber mainly uses low softening point C5 petroleum resin, C5/C9 copolymer resin and DCPD resin.
Petroleum resin is a kind of chemical product developed in recent years, because of its low price, the advantages of mixed solubility, low melting point, water resistance, ethanol and other chemicals, can be widely used in rubber, adhesives, paint, paper, ink and other industries and fields.
