I want to put curtains behind my headboard, my comforter is chocolate brown, and my walls are light yellow. I want to use blues with the brown, but im not sure what color the curtains should be. I thought if i go with brown it would be too much brown. What do you think?
Since you want to incorporate blue, you could do a navy blue. It would look good with the light yellow walls and brown comforter.
Use alternating blue & brown curtains (sheers) behind your headboard. Get blue sheets & pillowcases, patterned blue & brown decorative pillows for the bed. Sew yellow buttons on the pillows. Do a foot comforter folded at the end of the bed in blue & sew yellow buttons all along the top of the comforter. If you get an unfinished rod for the curtain, you could paint it yellow. Blue, yellow & brown go well together. repeat all those colors in candles & lamps, etc. I think it would look cool.
Peach and green are beautiful together, but I would change the curtain to go with the bedding I choose, whatever that may be. The chances of getting something to look really great with tan and gold is pretty slim. The green is actually pretty neutral and is a restful color. The peach would add a lightness and cheeriness to it, all in all, it would be pretty cozy. A pale yellow would also look great, is a bit brighter than the peach, but would have the same overall effect. White would look very crisp and classic, and you could add accessories in a variety of colors, peach, yellow, blue, any of these would look good with a green/white combo. Get throw pillows, a throw, an area rug in one of those colors, and the room is your personality. Or if you choose one of the colors mentioned, a crisp white in your accessories would unify and give it a freshness and brightness in small doses. Navy blue also looks good with green, most people don't think about that. If you use the navy, I would add the accent color of white, yellow or peach. Any of these combos would work. You need to work with those colors and decide what works for you. Get color chips from the paint dept in the colors mentioned, and work with them, put a color scheme together playing with those, they're free. See which 3 colors you like together.
