Question:

What Could Be Wrong With Our Boiler?

My boiler is been playing up lately. lt goes on, then 10 minutes later, it turns off, and my Dad won't ring the landlord (private rented flat), to sort it out. He just keeps on turning it back on again when it goes off! l am worried about Carbon Monoxide leaking or something. l would ring them myself but l don't have the number. lt's literally annoying me having to keep getting up in the night and turning it back on because it's so cold! Is there actually anything wrong with it to be causing this? Thanks (:

Answer:

yes, there is a problem, could be a broken pump coupling if pump motor is running, dont worry aboat carbon monooxide, that is why it keeps shuting off, for safety!! you need system checked out.
sounds like the circulator is not working and the boiler is reaching max temperature and shutting off or your zone valve is getting weak or not enough power and shuts down for a moment .there is so many things it could be tell your dad to call the owner and have him fix it properly its the law for him to supply a proper working system to a tenant . good luck
