I don't know much about gas dryers, but they work a lot like furnaces. If this is an older unit, I'd say that the pilot light has blown out or the thermocouple is bad. If it is newer, lots of things could have gone wrong with the ignition sequence. Tell us if you have a standing pilot or an ignitor. Oh, and you are perfectly safe, that's what thermocouples and flame sensors do. - LOL, I like that other guy's answer: it's busted. Too funny. Thanks a bundle, Captain Obvious.
If you smell smoke and see flames..get out..and fast.
Basically it's like this: Lets say you want to start a commie regime.. Religions always seem to conflict this regime.. It's hard to get religious people to go along with ideals that conflict their own religions, so it's better if religion is eradicated from the population that the dictator is trying to control.. It's kind of ironic because religion was once a method of control, but communist leaders tried to get rid of it rather than starting a new religion that went along with their ideals.. Just to be clear, not all atheists are commies..
I work for Sears. Here are a few simple things you can check that might be causing the problem: Pull out the lint trap. Use a flash light to look into the lint trap area for lint build up. If there's any in there, use a vacuum to clean it out. Check the vent that's connected to the dryer for any kinks or clogs. Check your circuit breakers in your home. Some appliances can run off of two separate breakers. If one is blown, the appliance will still receive power but not enough to run properly. If the wall vent that your dryer is connected to vents to the side of your home, turn on dryer and go outside to check the vent. If there is little to no air coming through the vent, it means there's lint build up inside your wall and you need to have your vents cleaned. Check fuse on the back of the dryers blower housing to make sure it's not blown. You'll need to take the back of the dryer off to gain access to the blower housing. For gas dryers, your gas coils or valves may have failed.
