My husband and I carved pumpkins and put them inside of our house on either side of the door for decoration. A little over a week later i noticed that the pumpkins were full of mold! So when I pucked up the pumpkin the mold had grown all trough the bottom of the pumpkin and into our carpet. It is about an 8inch circle going all the way around. The outer circle is a white mold and the inner circle is a dark gray/black mold and its all fuzzy! We don‘t have money to hire someone, what should I do!?
This is dangerous. It has taken me 3 years to get it right. I have a steam cleaner. I load it up with 20% Lysol to 80% water in the soap container. Then I have a one quart container that I pour hot water in until the water is a little over half way, then I pour in bleach and stir it up. I then take the hand attachment of the steam cleaner and spray the carpet until it is very wet then I take a old tooth brush or rag and pour the bleach water over the lysol wet carpet and brush it in very quick for about one minute then I turn the steam cleaner back on and suck up the Lysol and bleach water combination. You need to get the bleach on the wet carpet real quick then brush it in for a minute or so then quickly such everything up with the steam cleaner. It you keep the bleach on the carpet for too long it will stain your carpet to a lighter color. To be safe you should try it in a corner in a closet several times before you do it on the carpet where people can see it. You can also use less bleach. It works great. Just remember to practice in a dark corner of a closet first. Good Luck.
I don't think you can be fired- It's not like you were calling in sick then going to a water park or something. You were calling in sick because you couldn't work
If you worked there over a year AND you are full time, you are protected under FMLA. The FAMILY MEDICAL LEAVE ACT. But you have to notify your employer that you are on it and fill out some paperwork and it involves seeing a doctor.
You can use laundry detergent to scrub it out
Do not use bleach on your carpet, if it is nylon or polyester you will permanently damage the carpet dyes. Olefin carpet my survive the bleach as the dyes are encapsulated inside of the fiber, in any case, keep your bleach in the laundry room. Use a little white or clear dish soap on a damp cloth and treat the stain this way, remember, to much soap left in the carpet fibers will make the carpet sticky and it will attract dirt/soil. If you can rinse and extract this area of the carpet after treating it with a shop vac, you will be close to a professional stain removing expert. All professional carpet/upholstery cleaners rinse and extract all solutions from the carpet.
