I have never really gardened much at all or potted a plant for that matter but my thumb is itching to start somewhere and I want to start an indoor herb garden. Help!
In order to use conditional formatting I think you're going to need a couple more columns for additional information. Once you have them set up, you can hide the columns. I made a sample spreadsheet to do this. Here's what I did: cell 1 for each column is reserved for titles (Hull name, Hose number, hose name, etc). I selected all of the data in column B (Hose number) starting at cell 2, and named that range Hose_Num The same thing in column C, but with the name Hose_Name I also did the same in column D with the name Num_Name Insert two columns (if necessary) so that column D and E are free. In cell D2, put this formula: COUNTIFS(Hose_Name,C2,Hose_Num,B2) In column E put this formula (and then press Ctrl + Shift + Enter, rather than just Enter. This makes it an array formula): MODE(IF(B2Hose_Num,Num_Name,)) Copy both formulas down to fill your list (you can select the cell with the formula and double click the black square in the bottom right corner of the cell) Now select your Hose_Name range and open conditional formatting on the Home tab. Make a new rule, and for Rule Type select Use a formula to determine which cells to format. Put this formula into the box: NOT(D2E2) Choose your formatting Apply and you're good.
Professionals who are called in to test your smoke detectors would know the specific method approve by the manufacturer of each detector, such as using canned smoke or other materials, then how to sanitize the detector after the test, so the sensor does not lose sensitivity. The battery for an alarm system is tested at the alarm panel where it is connected for the system.
