Don't know of any alternative solders. But if you have some experience with 'sweating pipes', while the joint is still fluid, do a quick wipe around the joint with a rag to remove the excess solder. This leaves a very narrow, clean and consistent looking silver solder line around the joint. Conscientious plumbers always do this - or they have just the right touch to only load the joint with just enough solder to fill the joint and nothing more. Alternatively, spray paint the plumbing to match whatever you like.
