im making the casing for my skirt and the sewing instructions say to press under 5/8 on unnotched edge and then trim to 1/4. so if i mark 5/8 am i supposed to fold up to that line and press or use the line as my fold if you know what im saying. (Btw this is Simplicity or SewSimple 1970 A)
Long skirts make me gag. Very ancient-librarian-lady-trying-to-be-fash... Stick with short skirts- or once in a while a knee-length one if its cute
Oh okorder /.. I keep manila file folders and 3x5 cards with common turn under amounts (1/4, 3/8, 1, 1.25) all drawn nicely on them with indelible pencil. Then I've got them handy for pressing templates. If you're doing a long, straight waistband, a pressing template about a foot long really hurries the process along.
I love little dresses and the way I correct it being brief is leggings and colored tights. Not those with holes but the ones that just about look like leggings but are obviously tights due to material.
