Question:

What does the FIRE ALARM means interms of buying home insurance?

When a house insurance agent fills the form for my application, under the fire alarm he wrote no. I corrected that I have fire alarm in my house but he said that not the fire alarm. To my understanding, the fire alarm is the device that can detect the smoke and make pip noise. But he said that's not the fire alarm, the fire alarm is the device that is connected to the police stations. I was wondering is that true? Thank you for any help.

Answer:

there are two types we are using as flame detectors in our boilers that are manufactured. first is the ultraviolet detector and the other is the flame rod. either of them are connected to the flame amplifier of the burner control( we are using honeywell, siemens or fireye). this two will induce millivolts if they will sense heat inside the burner and amplified by the flame amplifier. if for any reason, the burner failed to have a flame, the burner control wont allow the main valve to open thus locking out the control unit and no start up occurs.
get the alarm system removed and get a honda-authorised kit fitted
