I would say lung damage, it's Co2, carbonoxygen, won't support life or air. You should see your doctor and tell him what happen. You could be looking at lung damage.
Those answers are correct. Usually when the batteries get low, the detectors will alert you with small intermittent beeps. If it is constantly going off, for example, by the mere act of you looking at the stove, then it could be a very cheap detector made in China. If that's the case, then you replace it.
