What if i get sprayed by a fire extinguisher? is it harmful?wgat should i do?

Answer:

First, you need to select a proper type of extinguisher based upon the type of materials that are burning. Using the wrong type can actually cause a severe increase in the fire and could kill you. Second, quickly note whether the extinguisher is charged, since someone may have already used it, or it has gone bad from disuse. Third, position yourself between the nearest WORKING exit, so that you can still get out if the fire suddenly expands. Fourth, select the area of the fire that is the most dangerous, meaning it needs to be put out sooner. For instance, the part that is creeping closer to a box of explosives would be a better first choice than the part that has no other immediate exposures to higher hazards. Finally, do as Mango says (P.A.S.S.): pull safety/tamper seal, aim the nozzle at the BASE of the fire (or edge of a pool of liquid fire), squeeze the trigger briefly (to see what comes out and what effect it has), then squeeze more and sweep side-to-side, hitting more burning area with each sweep (don't waste sweeping over the same place again, unless the fire there is still burning). Consider the fact that you may need more than one extinguisher if (a) the first one doesn't operate or (b) the amount of fire exceeds the extinguishing capacity of the first extinguisher. For instance, a 10BC might put out 10 sq ft of burning liquid, so if the fire is 20 sq ft, you'll either need another extinguisher or you'll need to hope the rest of the fuel will burn itself out before it spreads to more fuels.
Yes, I do. We have one in our kitchen and I can see it from where I am sitting.
