Question:

what if you are wearing a tiny safety pin during an MRI?

if you found a tiny little safety pin on your clothes after the test should you be concerned about it causing any long term health problems?

Answer:

If it's a chemical sensor, then there's a 50/50 chance. If it's an optical sensor, the answer is yes. ndl was technically correct although the correct terminology was not used. Optical sensors use a beam of light, like a motion detector. When the beam is broken by a vapor, the alarm is triggered. It can't tell the difference between real smoke and fake smoke. Most new sensors being installed are optical. So it's best not to try it. Hope this helps.
