I have this letter from the early 1890‘s and the little boy mentions to his father that he wants a diamond frame wheel. What exactly is that?
A wheel to fit a modern diamond framed bicycle as opposed to a wheel to fit a Penny Farthing aka High wheeler.
Just keep a robe or something like that close by so that if there is a fire you can grab that really quick. Keep it on the edge of your bed or on a chair somewhere in your room, a place that is easily accessible. But, of course, if you don't have time to grab some clothes, just run out naked! Would you rather die or have your neighbors see you nude?
I always keep a set of clothes nearby when sleeping naked, in case of emergency. I'd probably run out naked, and put them on out there. (because there's a FIRE, why would I stand there and put clothes on? :P) Otherwise, I'd just tear the sheet off my bed on my way out and make a toga! If I for some reason didn't have either handy, I wouldn't mind being seen naked. I'd rather be naked outside, than dead in a fire.
I always sleep naked too. It doesn't take me 15 seconds to throw on a nightgown. If I were unable to get to anything to cover up with thenyes, I would run out naked before I died in the fire.
