What is a fun craft to do with a 2 1/2 yr old girl? Valentine's Day is coming soon.?
I go grocery shopping when my fiance is homeI leave the baby with him, make the trip quick, and bring them inthere's always a time during the week where he's here for a few hours so I can get that, and other errands, doneI do my laundry the same wayI do it on the days he doesn't have to workhe is good about staying here and helping out so I can get things doneI'm a SAHM also, but it's hard to do those things when I'm home alone with the babyI don't think I've ever had to do laundry when he's not hereif I did (our laundry is down in the basement), I'd probably wait until my son was sleeping, and I'd bring the laundry downstairs quickly and lock the door, bring my keys, and come back up after it's all loaded and runningI take the garbage out like that, with the door lockingI'm never out for more than a minute, literallyand I live on the first floor, but there are stairs going outsideI lug it all with mepurse, stroller, carseat, babysometimes I leave the stroller in the car but it'll only fit in the front seat, so that's annoyingI rarely use the stroller though, most of the time I use a slingI leave the diaper bag in the car a lot too, there's no use for it inside really, unless I'm restocking it.
-Heart shaped cookie cutters and play doh -This age LOVES glue sticks/glitter/sequins on pre-cut shapes -Finger painting pre-cut shapes (hand prints on pre-cut hearts make wonderful grandparent valentines) -Take an old, cleaned small can (tuna, cat or dog food) and shape into heart shapeLine with aluminum foil then make a thin layer of white glue (like Elmer's) -maybe 1/4 inch-liberally add sprinkles, punched out hearts, tiny beads or cut outs from old valentines (small cupids)Let dry (may take a couple day)RemoveCan drill a small hole in to hang-Pre cut hearts and pre cut eyes, mouth, noses, for heart faces (good practice, too, for little ones)
I don't live in an apartment now, but I used to live in one on the top floor.it sucks! I suggest keeping your stroller in the trunk of your car so you don't have to lug it in and out of the apartmentIf you have groceries to bring in, maybe you could put the baby in the highchair with some toys, or an excersaucer type thing while you bring them inAnd good question about the laundry.no clue how you'd go about that one.
We have an SUV and I keep my stroller in there so that I don't have to lug it up and down the stairsI have the added headache of needing a double stroller and being a petite person, it takes a lot for me to haul it up and downOur building doesn't have an elevator - we have private entrances since it's a townhouse styleSo we have to walk up and down the stairs from our balcony We are fortunate enough to have in suite laundry so I try to get that done throughout the dayHowever it seems like every time I turn my back my oldest is getting into something or bugging her sisterFor the grocery thing - my husband has always been great about wanting to come with me to do the shoppingSo I go inside with the kids and he brings in the bins (we use plastic bins not bags) which there is usually only 3 or 4 of.
Just moved to a nice new condo, so I don't have to worry about this anymore, but for the first three months.ugh, it was heck to deal with! What I did wasn't ideal, but it was the only wayI had a travel system (where the car seat straps into the stroller) so I would strap my son into the car seat, then put him right outside my apartment doorIt was a small stair well, I was never more than 10 feet from my son, even at the bottom of the stairs I could still see him and everything around himI'd put the stroller at the bottom of the stairs, then run back up for babyWhen I got home, I did the same in reverse: took baby up and put him in the nursery, then ran back downstairs for the strolleronce my c-section healed, I would literally lift the stroller (a good 25 lbs with baby strapped in and kinda large/awkward shaped) and walk down the stairs with itas far as groceries, I'd go grocery shopping a couple times a week and only carry what I could in the basket underneath the stroller OR I'd plan my shopping trips for when my husband or a neighbor could help me carry the groceries As for laundry, the laundry room was one the first floor of our buliding I'd either do it when my son was napping in his crib (he'd sleep for aprox two hours at a time and I'd carry the monitor with me) or I'd carry my son in the baby sling and kick the laundry basket along the floor or put the laundry in a bag and carry it over my shoulder I never stayed in the laundry room, just put the clothes in and left, came back to switch to the drier and left.never there for more than 5 minutesThat was the way everyone in my building did laundry, if you live in a nice buliding then you generally don't have to worry about watching the laundry.
