Question:

What is a good science experiment (High School Level) with crystals?

I want to do a science experiment that has to do with affecting the growth of crystals in some way, but I can not really think of anything at the moment. Any ideas with a procedure on how I can test it would be well appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Answer:

Take a piece of limestone (dolomite would prob work just as well) and place it in a bowl of acid (vinegar) for a few weeks. This will cause calcite (CaCO3) crystals to grow.
