Question:

What is a lime and lemon called in Spanish?

I have been working in restaurants for over 20 years, and every time a certain question comes up without the same answer. I would like to know for the record what a Lemon and a Lime are in Spanish.

Answer:

I'll tell you how if you make me some first!!(:
I would use some lime juice and lime zest in the cupcakes...maybe 2 tablespoons of lime juice and 2 teaspoons of lime zest. Just remember to reduce the liquid in the recipe by 2 Tablespoons, or whatever amount of lime juice you use. The icing will be trickier. It's already at optimum consistency, so adding lime juice to it will make it too runny. Maybe try using lime zest in that, too. The problem is that, since it's not cooked, the bits of lime peel will be bitter and maybe a little gritty.
